Mark's review of The Ark BBC 1

I loved it. I loved the scene where Noah is trying to explain to his wife that God has told him to build an ark - "a big boat in the desert 70 miles from the sea"! It is brilliant and worth watching on BBC i-Player just for that moment (first aired Mon 30th March). The family interactions are especially good in this new BBC 1 version of The Bible story; the family tension and incredulity are very real and earthy. What was lacking was water! There was plenty of heat and dust but where was the 40 days of rain and the flood...?! It would have been nice to see some animals too. Great on the human element, poor on the natural\supernatural phenomena. Still worth a look.
