Intrigued (& dismayed) by The Returned on Channel 4

WARNING: EPISODE 6 DERAILS WITH WEIRDNESS AND SEX.
Zombies are everywhere it seems - or is that just in the LS family? I have one son who watches Zombie movies, one son who shoots them on his playstation and one son who gets paid to dress up as one! Now even Beverley has been taken over by the new French TV series The Returned - a chilling and provocative tale of stylish zombies (who don't look like Zombies). The photography is amongst the best I have seen in a TV drama and the acting superb with long, lingering, quizzical French looks. It is scary and at times brutal so I am not suggesting that everyone watch episode 5 on Sunday or run home to watch it on iplayer. The story focuses on a number of dead people who return to their home town and families as if nothing has happened and the affect this has on everyone. The Returned asks some difficult questions about family relationships, regret, forgiveness, honesty, the nature of love and ultimately what happens when we die...? Shame they have to spoil it with nudity and sex.
