Today - a good day to pray for Iran

Today is a good day to pray for the nation of Iran in the light of yesterdays presidential elections. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-22916174 has several good features on the elections in Iran and some great footage of men and women voting in Iran yesterday. Whilst the vote result is not clear, Rouhani looks like the front runner, today it is still good to pray for the country, the regime, the new president and the Christians in Iran, many of whom are persecuted for their faith. http://fcnn.net/index.php/en/fa/ has several illuminating articles regarding the plight of Iranian believers, some of whom remain in prison. Having spent last week with many Iranians I can say how warm, friendly, and utterly delightful they were. The believers I met had a very humbling passion for Jesus and many have paid a high price for their faith.
