After a week of momentous political decisions I thought it would be a good idea to keep in touch with both my local and national politicians. On Thursday I hosted breakfast for the Mayor of Surrey Heath and the Camberley church leaders (courtesy of Penny & Doug, Roy and Frances). You never know when you might need the help and support of local politicians or when they might need your help and support - so it is a good idea to get to know them.
on Friday, with Cllr David Allen, I joined Michael Gove at his breakfast club at Lakeside hotel Frimley - made famous for international darts. Bob Potter, now 84 was there - the owner of the complex and various other hotels. It is unusual for me to see Michael Gove twice in a month, but a pleasure too. It has been a challenging week for him. He spoke eloquently about education, the Families and Young Persons Bill and answered a good number of questions about issues in Surrey Heath. Many in the room seemed to think we were with a future Prime Minister...
