I learned something else on my course in London - I am a ESTJ (one of sixteen possible psychological types). Those of you who are familiar with Myers-Briggs will also be familiar with the initials and what they mean.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. The MBTI instrument is called "the best-known and most trusted personality assessment tool available today", "the world’s most widely used personality assessment".
I found it helpful as a personality profile tool that can help you understand yourself and help you understand those you work\live with - how and why you react to situations and how a wife\husband\colleague may react very differently.
It was invented by two women: Katherine Briggs and Elizabeth Myers during World War II. Our trainer for the day, whilst passionate about MBTI, also encouraged us to "hold it lightly". Good advice. Good advice for complex beings who are "fearfully and wonderfully made".
