Highlights of Amplify 22

Amplify is a Commission event for elders of churches. It took place at Welcome Church - a large, colourful, state of the art church in Woking. 200 of us attended. It was brilliant to be together in person. The worship was very good, the speakers enagaging and relevant and the food, well...yummy. Paul Kerensa the comedian took the mic on Friday night. I was not taken by surprise at how funny he was, I was taken by surprise by his Biblical material - very well thought through. Saturday morning Dave and Philippa Stroud both spoke: Dave on History, Context and Cultural Change, Philippa on Nehemiah chapter (and book in The Bible). Both were very good, challenging and engaging with inspiring personal stories. Guy Miller adressed the troops in the afternoon, encouraging us to look to Jesus and spend time with Him. There were other nuggests too like Julia Holloway bringing a powerful prophetic word about new growth after a scorched earth. Then there were many conversations with friends who we have missed. So precious. A great time.
