Basking in the warm glow of Pentecost Sunday

Sunday was a full-on and magnificent Beacon Sunday. It began for me collecting Marion (Terry Virgo's sister) from Surbiton to enjoy the day with us. She is the one who led Terry to the Lord and in a very real sense we owe Marion a great debt. Lazarus spoke about Pentecost on what was Pentecost Sunday, the choir sang, the Holy Spirit fell and many folk experienced His tender touch and presence. The highlight for me was probably Zoe becoming a Christian and wanting to tell so many people afterwards! Newcomers lunch followed - 20 Newcomers were served a gorgeous meal and got to know each other and some of the Team. Beacon football had 30 guys playing in the sunshine in the afternoon, many expressing the desire to watch the first England World Cup game on Saturday at The Beacon together. Then the Prayer Meeting with humbling reports from the Team who joined Park Life in Southampton. What a day!
