Enjoying Danny Silk live

Bethel Church Redding California is having quite an impact on the UK church scene. Bill Johnson and Danny Silk, 2 of its pastors, are racking up the air miles traversing the Atlantic to speak at conferences and churches in the UK. 7 of us went from The Beacon to hear Danny Silk at North Kent Community Church. Having read 2 of his books I had some idea of what to expect in terms of content: Loving your Kids on Purpose is a good, healthy dose of parenting, Culture of Honour remains his best-selling book, although I struggled with some of the theology and practise. Attending a Danny Silk conference reminds me of the John Wimber conferences of the late 80s, Jesus-centred kingdom teaching. John Wimber would encourage delegates to "do the stuff", Danny Silk is very similar in speech, delivery and method, even using similar stories about a waitress and healing. I enjoyed listening to Danny live, he is easy and refreshing to listen to. It was good to be encouraged to keep praying for people to be healed and it was very good to be prayed for at the conference - a real highlight.
