Highlights of Global Leadership Summit at Kerith
It is good to be stretched. It is good to be forced to think outside your normal frame of reference. It is good to be challenged. It is good to see creativity - all these things and more happened at the Global Leadership Summit in Bracknell (plus many other venues across the UK). The GLS is actually Willow Creek - a large church in America that is committed to putting on an excellent Leadership Conference and sharing it with the world. The speakers were very good indeed, some from church leadership (Bill Hybels) but others from politics (Gen. Colin Powell) to commerce (Liz Wiseman) to medicine (Dr Henry Cloud). Some of the topics covered included: influence, motivation, staff culture, behaviour, succession, training, stress, feedback, vulnerability, team building. I learnt a lot - the challenge now is putting some of it into practise.
