Do you want to be a monk?

I wasn't sure what to make of a Camberley Church Leaders 2 day retreat based around Celtic Spirituality ( I was more aware of Celtic playing Barcelona that night!). I have never wanted to be a monk or been attracted to live in a monastery chanting latin at 5.00am - I don't see that in the gospels. I have to admit however that being taught by Bruce Nicole (vicar of St Michael's) about some of the values of monastic life - I feel challenged, refreshed and encouraged. He taught us about the central rhythms of: prayer, work, rest, food plus the core values of: community, unity, caring for God's creation and mission - can't argue with that. Maybe I will become a monk after all!
