Can people change (part 2)?

Recently I heard of a Pastor who resigned after years of frustration on the basis that "people never change". Sad. I am beginning to be more convinced that people can change. When I read St Paul's letter to the Ephesians for example: "..put off your old self...be made new in your attitude...put on the new self..he who has been stealing must steal no longer...do not let unwholesome talk come out of your mouths..." (Eph 4:22-29) What is Paul talking about? Change. People can change. I guess you might be able to change by will power or by making life choices and decisions but the change Paul is speaking of is the change that comes about through the dynamic working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Can people change? Yes, I think they can.
