pre-op, op, post-op.

This week I am going into hospital for a knee operation. I have a torn medial meniscus (cartilage) sustained playing football in May with the church boys. I will have a general anaesthetic and an arthroscope (key hole surgery). In one side of the knee with the light and camera, the other side with the shears to cut the torn bit off in the hope that new cartilage will grow to replace the damaged piece. It will all be done in a day. I will be out action for a few days recovering and on crutches for about a week followed by 12 weeks of physiotherapy. I hope to be at church on Sunday, sitting at the back with my leg up watching and listening, learning to be patient...
