I have been on a course these last 2 days: Healing the Wounded. As a church we are committed to ongoing training for our Pastoral Team but broadened the training this time for other churches too. The course speakers were John Bedford and Angela Smeeton-Jones. Both have worked for Deep Release Ministries amongst others. I was very impressed with their mix of professionalism, therapy understanding and openess to the Holy Spirit. They can really hear God and have seen Him do some marvellous things. Their many stories of healing are nothing short of wonderful.
I also learnt some more about lymbic memory and Sensory-Motor-Psycho-Therapy. In other words, how hurts and emotional wounds can be stored in the body as well as the brain and those hurts can affect us emotionally and physically. 85% of illness is psycho-somatic we are told. Let's try and deal with the root (emotional cause)not just the (physical)symptom. Fascinating stuff.
I need to learn so much more...
