Coping with tradgey

Bev and I were praying this morning. We often begin the day praying. We were praying about tragedy. We were praying for Alice and Rory from the car crash last week. Rory has not regained consciousness one week on.
We were also praying for Artur Suliemanov's wife in Dagestan. Artur lead the church in Dagestan until Friday when he was shot and killed outside church. He leaves a wife and 5 children. His wife spoke movingly at the funeral.
You can find more about Artur on: www.barnabasfund.org
How do we cope with tradegy or sudden bad news? A car crash; a sudden death; an earth shattering medical diagnoses? Is there a way to be prepared?
In truth the only way to be prepared for unforeseen eventualities is to have deep faith. Not fluffy, flakey, emotional, Sunday morning, nice music faith but deep, rock based, Word-standing, Holy Spirit filled faith. The kind of faith being displayed by some of Annie's friends who are dealing with the death of their beautiful friend. The kind of faith displayed by Artur's wife.
Be ready. Dig deep. Be found to be in The Word of God. There is no other way.
" Even though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death I will fear no evil for you are with me". Psalm 23:4

Beautiful, thank you for your heartfelt words of encouragement.

What are the words to say to someone enduring such a loss? Sometimes hearing "God is with you " Is a hard pill to swallow, but the fact is God is with all of us, as much as His word is universally written, it was meant for the heart of each individual to hear Him in the way that God knows best.

In Christ may we stand and offer our help and support in the way that God has enabled us to do so.
