Football Teams and Leadership Teams

You may have noticed some football on the telly. Having three sons at home and various visitors in my house there is a lot of World Cup watching at the moment. There are lots of football teams on display. The key, of course, to being a good team is playing as a Team. Knowing your strengths, what position you play and knowing those around you. The aim of the team is also clear - to score goals and win the match. Relationships within the Team are also fragile and need attention. There are lots of challenges to form a successful Team.
Most of us are part of a Team or multiple Teams. Most of us are part of Leadership Teams: at work, at home, at school, in the church or in recreation. Even God sees the value of Team and works in Team: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Working hard as an individuals but working hard in the Team and for the Team is the key to success in any organisation.
I am very glad to be part of an excellent Leadership Team here in the church. In fact, we have just returned from a few days away together reviewing the year and plotting the next.
