A Romantic w\e away.
This was a surprise - a big surprise. For my birthday Bev bought us a w\e away. We were in need of uninterrupted quality time together. Like most couples with busy lives and demanding families time together to sit and talk is hard to come by. Even though it cost some money and was a logistical challenge to find good care for the children and the dog(!) it was so worth it to be able to be together for an extended time. We invested in our marriage. We talked together, ate together, slept together, shopped together, walked together, prayed together, plotted the next 5 years together and feel thoroughly blessed, strengthened and emotionally re-charged for the high demands of the next term.
If you haven't been away together for some time - book it! You wont regret it.
Here are a few tips on booking your romantic w\e away:
- Look out for w\e deals in the press.
- Use supermarket loyalty points\airmiles for a hotel break.
- Ask family\friends who you know well to help with child care. Perhaps reciprocate.
- The low cost airlines and places like www.lastminute.com;www.booking.com have some good deals.
- Make it special. make it memorable.
