Book Review: Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally
You may have seen the film? This is the hard read the film was based upon along with Schlinder's Ark. It is hard to read because it happened. It really did. In Europe, not that long ago. This is the story of Oskar Schindler who saved the lives of thousands of Jews during the Second World War. It is as violent, visceral and shocking as you would imagine. Yet it is also a story of courage, daring, sacrifice and generosity. Schlinder was a remarkable man and is the hero, rightly so, of the book. If you what a quiet bed time read, this may not be it. But if you want to be shaken to the core about what happened, whilst reflecting on the courage of the few to save the many, this is as powerful as it gets...
