Christmas Insights #7 The Inconvenience of Christmas.

It must have been very inconvenient for Mary - a young virgin trying to tell her fiancee and family that she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit. The resultant ridicule, rejection and pain must have been very inconvenient indeed. Obedience can be inconvenient. It must have been very inconvenient for Joseph - his fiancee getting pregnant, then after an angel tells him to get on with it,walking a long way with her 40 weeks pregnant to Bethlehem, only to find there is no-where to stay and have the baby! All very inconvenient. It was inconvenient for the Roman Empire to move in order for citizens to go to their place of birth. Why was that? So God's son would be born in the right place at the right time to fulfil an ancient prophecy. It was inconvenient for Jesus to leave heaven and come to earth to live as man and to die upon a cross for our sins. But very convenient for us...
