As Christmas approaches we rightly turn our attention to the coming of Christ and the part of the world He came to. I haven't been to the Holy Land. One day I would to go. In the meantime, I like to watch TV programmes about the Holy land. There have been several this week, one was on Aljazeera TV and featured Stephen Sizer a vicar from Virginia Water. It was emotionally highly charged in favour of Palestinians, as it would be with Stephen Sizer, whilst offering fascinating religio-political insights. One of the better programmes for the neutral was Simon Reeves episode 3 of his BBC Pilgrimage series. If you wonder what Bethlehem or Nazareth looks like now check out Pilgrimage in i-player. The scene where he visits the church of the nativity in Bethlehem is very moving...
