The Bible on TV - worth a look

It has caused something of a stir - The Bible on TV, Channel 5 Saturdays at 9.00pm. If the rest of the series is anything like the first episode it is worth a look. With some well-known international actors, authentic looking set-pieces and design it is good series. The authentic interpretation of the biblical texts is quite compelling and the manner in which some of the well-known bible stories are brought to life does give them a freshness, even for middle-aged pastors like me. One unexpected highlight for me is the fight-sequences - the manner in which the angels dispatch with the citizens of Sodom with bloody efficiency is quite something! At the moment it is the stories of the Old Testament, it will be interesting to meet Jesus in a few weeks time...
