Highlights of Staff Day at High Wycombe

Today was a Staff Development Day. I took the Beacon Church staff to Kings Church High Wycombe to visit Neil Bartlett and his team. We had a fascinating day looking and learning at how a large church operates. Neil and his team gave us of their time and experience and generous hospitality. For me some of the highlights included: the challenges of moving to 2 Sundays meetings and multi-site Sunday meetings; managing a large church; managing a large staff team; how communication changes in a large church and how the accessibility of the pastor reduces. I was also encouraged by the process they are going through of re-engineering Small Groups - like us and making Small Groups more accessible, with more variety and different shapes of Small Group. All very helpful.
