Harrowing and humbling stories from refugees in Turkey
I am having a very unusual and defining week serving refugees in Turkey. These refuges are educated and intelligent. Many are professional and most are here with harrowing stories to tell of oppression, hardship and in many cases abuse. It is very humbling sitting and listening to one heart renching story after another of loss and separation from family and loved ones. Most of the refugees here have little idea which country will take them eventually or how long it will take to be processed, one I spoke to has already been waiting one year. They have few possessions. For many however, the good news is they have found some friends going through what they are going through and a loving saviour. Humbling indeed.
