It must have been very inconvenient for Mary
It must have been very inconvenient for Mary the mother of Jesus. First an angel appears with some astonishing news that she was going to have a baby - without having sex. Not only that but the baby is going to be God's Son - Jesus. Then it must have been very difficult trying to explain this to her fiance Joseph. No wonder she went to visit her cousin Elizabeth for 3 months, probably to escape the abuse in the village. Fortunately, Joseph came round to the idea after God told him too but then more inconvenience as Joseph wanted to go to Bethlehem 50 miles away because of the census. 50 miles on a donkey whilst heavily pregnant - how inconvenient! To cap it all when they get they there is no accommodation (Joseph had not phoned ahead to book) and they ended up in a stable. No nursery, no buggy, no mother near by to assist. How inconvenient.
