An afternoon with a professional gambler

Occasionally we have the benefit of spending time with someone who's life style is very different from our own, and learning a great deal from the experience. Today I have had a fascinating afternoon with a professional gambler - a member of the family does just that, gambles professionally. He happens to be very good at it and remains a thoroughly nice chap too. He explained to me just a fraction of his considerable knowledge of horses, poker, international tournaments, venues, TV appearances, hotel casinos, betting odds and the difficulties of having a bank account in his profession. Fascinating. Even whilst we were talking he manged to win a considerable amount of money on 2 horse races. Not for the feint hearted this line of work, or for the average man or woman in the street.
