Today is a special day - it is my birthday. I awoke this morning with great thankfulness to God for all His goodness to me over the decades. I thank God for my mum and dad; for life in Trinidad, Algeria, Russia, Iran and the UK as I was growing up. I thank God for the schools I attended in Reading and for significant days at uni - meeting Christians who lead me closer to Jesus. I thank God for living and working in Woking where I met Bev and now I thank God for leading a growing church in Camberley where I have so many friends. I thank God that I can still play football! And I thank God for my family who I am looking forward to spending time with over this birthday w\e. My wife and children are my greatest challenge and my greatest delight! I am so blessed. God has been so good to me.
I was also thinking about the results of some natonal research done recently where older folk were asked what they would do differently looking back on their lives. These were the results:
Invest more relationally. Go more places. Take more risks.
