Band of Brothers w\e

It was great. The Band of Brothers w\e was great. Being away with 40 guys from the church for the w\e was great. The food was great, the hotel was great (Wokefield Park in Reading), Ray Lowe - our guest speaker was great. Even my room mate was great (I discovered he used to, as a professional athlete, do 1,000 sit-ups a day!).
For me it wasn't just the planned meetings and activities that were a success but the individual, non-planned conversations and friendships being developed that made the w\e such a success.
The Saturday afternoon army orienteering course at Bramley will always be a fond memory now for all us. Andrew stripped to his underpants in a water tank. Howard eating up ground, leaping like a gazelle through the undergrowth. David, at over 60, still able to run effortlessly. Tim asking to stop and asking: "can I write a song now?"! Andy finding a burnt and abandoned car that still worked and joy-riding...
My room-mate said: "I have never been to anything like this. I can't tell you how awesome it is to be with other Christian men for the weekend".
It was worth it.
"How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity". Psalms.
