The Holy Spirit at large

As a church, at the moment we are experiencing an exciting visitation of the Holy Spirit. The last 2 Sundays have seen a wonderful sense of God’s presence with many individuals testifying to having real encounters with the Holy Spirit; some being baptised in the Spirit, others speaking in tongues others silently experiencing Him in a deep and personal way. Many of the Small Groups meeting in homes this week have also reported God’s Spirit powerfully present and at work.
A few have asked if I could recommend any books on the Holy Spirit –
“God’s Empowering Presence” is the title of a book by Gordon Fee. It is a big and brilliant book, which takes a look at every verse in The Bible from the apostle Paul’s writing that refers to the Holy Spirit. Even the introduction is brilliant where Fee speaks of the Holy Spirit in term of “Person, Presence and Power” (page 8).
Let’s continue to be hungry for and responsive to the Holy Spirit.
