When the Holy Spirit leads a Sunday

Sunday morning at church was unusual. Unusual in that Andrew had prepared to preach from a tricky passage in the Book of Revelation (the seven seals and four horsemen from chapter 6...) but in the end he did not. The reason for that is we want to be open to the leading of The Holy Spirit in our meetings. In this case, it was right for us to linger longer in worship, not rushing on. There was also a larger than normal number of contributions, from 8 different people, largely along the same theme..."are you stuck..is something holding you back from a close relationship with God...are there chains around you...just ask God what you want Him to do for you...". We wanted to have time to respond to what God was saying to us and have time to pray for those who wanted to be prayed for. It is so important we build churches on the Word and the Spirit - a committment to The Bible whilst being open to the Holy Spirit. Andrew will be preaching from Revelation 6 this Sunday. At least I think so...
