Churches growing
This week I have had the privilege of being with the leaders from Kings Church High Wycombe – a large church that is continuing to grow now they have moved to 2 Sunday meetings. The following day I met with the leaders of another large church - The Coign Church, Woking who are also experiencing growth and facing, like many churches, the challenge of needing a larger facility. I also had lunch with a godly and courageous man working amongst ethnic minorities in the UK who is living and working under death threats – a very different kind of challenge.
Let’s continue to seek God, pray, love our neighbours, be like Jesus and watch what He will do in adding folk to the church.

Prayer and Fasting
Prayer and Fasting
This week I have been away at Prayer & Fasting. This is an event that takes place 3 times a year when the UK church leaders in Newfrontiers get together to pray. It was a great time. The worship and nearness of God was very special. Hearing news from around the UK was inspirational. On the Tuesday evening, Terry Virgo (who leads the Newfrontiers family of churches) shared some of his thoughts regarding succession – or “transition” – as he prefers to call it – not to one man but to several apostolic guys.
We spent time praying for upcoming Newfrontiers events including: Together on a Mission (the Brighton Conference); New day and the Together weekends.
News of church planting in London, Birmingham and the north was challenging then hearing from David Devenish about the very real persecution of brothers and sisters in Dagestan and Chechnya was very humbling.

More change and challenge!
More change and challenge
This week we have seen more change and challenge regarding changes in staff and personnel at The Beacon. Pete Hewlett has left the staff to pursue teaching. We are grateful for the years Pete has served our children and young people. Andrew Booth has joined the staff this week as the Assistant Pastor and has already made a very positive impact; Jemily leaves the staff in 2 weeks for maternity leave; Helen joins the staff as administrative maternity cover. More change and challenge looks likely.
Let’s look at these changes with faith and pray for those concerned whilst considering - what change and challenge might God want to bring about in my life?
